New head chef at the 2-toque restaurant ice Q: Jonas Grundner
Just in time for the reopening of the ski area and our ice Q restaurant on 14 November 2024, Jonas Grundner will take over as the new Chef de Cuisine at the summit of the Gaislachkogl in the 2-toque restaurant ice Q, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. The 29-year-old from Vorarlberg brings a breath of fresh air to the kitchen of the multi-award-winning restaurant, which has already caused a worldwide sensation as the location for the James Bond film SPECTRE.
Young top chef with international experience
Jonas Grundner’s path to Sölden led him through several stations in the luxury hotel industry and star gastronomy. Most recently, he worked as a sous chef at the 2-star restaurant Mammertsberg in Freidorf, Switzerland – part of the Caminada Group. Before that, he gained valuable experience in top restaurants such as Andreas Caminada’s 3-star restaurant Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau and the legendary L’Auberge de l’Ill in France.

The ice Q: gourmet cuisine with a breathtaking backdrop
Designed by Johann Obermoser in the form of several glass ice cubes, ice Q opened in December 2013. Its futuristic exterior soon attracted the attention of filmmakers, so much so that it served as the backdrop for the Hoffler Clinic during the filming of the 24th James Bond film SPECTRE in 2015. In 2018, the 007 ELEMENTS James Bond Experience was built next to the restaurant on the Gaislachkogl. Surrounded by an overwhelming panorama with over 250 three-thousand-meter peaks, the ice Q, which, like the FALCON restaurant at the middle station, is part of the 5-star hotel Das Central, presents exquisite gourmet creations together with carefully curated wines at 3,048 meters. The three-country wine PINO 3000 matures in the specially built wine cellar.
